Why does my Engine on a 97 eclipse gs off while driving?
I have a 1997 Mitsubishi Eclipse GS 2.0L turbo car not. As I'm driving and the engine is hot the car will die while I'm driving, no hesitation or dies, just as you turn the Key OFF. Car will start up immediately, as if nothing happened and execution. I changed the whole EGR valve + clean the Port and new coil pack and also won the MAP Sensor and it continues to have the same problem. You scanned the codes P0401, P0138, P0140 Oxygen Sensor the exhaust came, but the sensor has been cut for over a year.I AutoShutdown replaced the relay and the Fuel Pump and it accounted for one week but now its to do again. Also replaced the camshaft sensor, crankshaft sensor All the ideas I am stumped
You have the same car just like me. Theyre real POS, so poorly maintained. P0401 Exhaust Gas Recirculation Flow Insufficient Detected The DPFE (differential Pressure feedback EGR) sensor is defective and must be replaced There is a blockage in the EGR (Tube), carbon accumulation most likely the EGR valve is faulty The EGR valve can not be opened due to a lack of vacuum P0138 02 Sensor Circuit High Voltage (Bank I Sensor 2) Faulty O2 Sensor short to voltage drums in the signal of O2 sensor circuit high fuel pressure (not more likely) P0140 02 Sensor Circuit No Activity Detected (Bank 1 Sensor 2) the heating circuit short-circuit in the O2 sensor. (Requires generally fuse Replacement of the heating circuit in the fuse box too) Short signal circuit O2 Sensor fusion connector wiring harness or due to Contact with the exhaust system of the water in the beam of intrusion connector Bad PCM or PCM connector plug these sensors and you get better MPG.
